Itinerary
Saladin Citadel, Hanging Church, Abu Serga Church, and Khan El Khalili

At the agreed pickup point you select —maybe at the airport, train station, or your hotel in Cairo—we will be on time in the early morning. Take your comfy seat in the private, modern AC vehicle to start your day tour with your Egyptologist who speaks your language.

Arrive at the Saladin Citadel; the original fortifications built by Saladin still stand in the 12th century, telling the story of how Cairo was defended against Crusaders. From its edge point, you can enjoy panoramic views over Cairo, even to the pyramids on a clear day.

Explore the Citadel’s crown jewel, the Muhammad Ali Mosque, which reflects Ottoman influence and was a symbol of Egypt’s modern rebirth—famous for its large domes, intricate interiors, and alabaster walls.

Afterwards, go ahead to Babylon Fortress to discover the Hanging Church, which was built in the 3rd century above the gatehouse of an old Roman fortress. Inside, you’ll find wooden ceilings shaped like Noah’s Ark, marble pulpit steps, and beautiful Coptic icons depicting scenes from the Bible with Egyptian artistic styles, showing the layers of history Cairo has witnessed.

Transfer to the Abu Serga Church—also called Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church—is one of the most sacred Christian sites in Egypt and a highlight of Coptic Cairo. Built in the 4th century, it’s believed to stand over the spot where the Holy Family—Mary, Joseph, and the infant Jesus—rested during their flight into Egypt.

Afterwards, relish your lunchtime, savoring one of the most delicious Egyptian cuisines, rich with local flavors.

Later on, we proceed to Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, a vibrant maze of narrow alleys where history, culture, and shopping come together in one unforgettable experience. Established in the 14th century, it has been a bustling hub for traders from all over the Middle East. Many shops are set in beautifully preserved Fatimid & Mamluk-era buildings, with wooden mashrabiya windows and ornate archways.

Khan El-Khalili is our final stop, so we now go ahead to the drop-off point you select by the private vehicle after creating unbelievable memories and taking non-repeatable photos.
