Dendera Temple Visit

You will arrive at Dendera at approximately 8:00 AM, where an Egyptologist tour guide will explain the temple's history. The Temple of Hathor, mainly constructed during the Late Ptolemaic period under Ptolemy XII and Cleopatra VII, has a typical Egyptian temple design, except for the hypostyle hall's front, which Emperor Tiberius constructed.

The temple complex contains notable Ptolemaic reliefs, including a large carving of Cleopatra VII and her son, Ptolemy XV (Caesarion), on the exterior wall. They're depicted in Egyptian attire, offering sacrifices.

Hathor, the goddess of healing, has a sanatorium in the temple complex where pilgrims sought cures. Sacred water, used for bathing, was made holy by pouring it onto statues with sacred texts. Priests dispensed unguents, and there were sleeping quarters for those hoping to receive healing in their dreams.

After exploring the Dendera temple, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Relish traditional Egyptian cuisine before heading back to Hurghada, where your tour concludes.
